cowboys is gonna lose 2 seattleDon't count on it. Seattle is completely banged up (that OL is a fucking joke) and they're playing on the road. Cowgirls got a huge shot in the arm by playing well and dismantling a good ATL team. Ware signs a contract extension and will be fired up. One more hit to Hasselback's rib cage could end his season easily.
I like Dallas in this game. If Seattle loses it pretty much ends their season. That is the real motivation for them but it's going to be very difficult on the road with all the injury problems they have on defense. Plus Seattle running game has been total garbage the whole year. Don't see that working better in Big D next Sunday.

You know could be. Being a great quarterback goes well beyond just pure athletic skill. Look at Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Granted, they have had the good fortune to play on great teams but most people wouldn't characterize them as "great" athletes. I'm sure they are underrated good athletes but no one ever talks about Manning's/Brady's footspeed, or strength, or explosiveness.

You know the 49ers were this close to being about 9-6 right now. But they need to learn how to close out games. They had the Vikings beat until some Favre magic and they outplayed the Colts on the road but couldn't score one stinkin' touchdown in the second half. That three point loss at Seattle with 0:00 time left was tough, too. It's been a season where the 49ers took a step forward. They played some real competitive football almost every game. Five of the 49ers eight losses were by six points or less. The offense is still a work in progress. At what point do the 49ers give up on Alex Smith?

Both Indy and New Orleans have messed up this last three weeks of the regular season.
The last thing you want is to go into the playoff with 2 nad 3 game losing streaks like those two teams have done.
Dumb as hell.
I understand not wanting to risk injuries but you lose all the momentum you pile up all year and then have to try and turn it on against the best teams in the league. Pfffft.
At this point I'd love to see the Packers make a run at the Super Bowl. they're playing well and the kid from Cal is really coming of age. Probably won;t happen but it'd be great to see Rodgers face Favre and beat him!

Basically because teams didn't have him rated that high and probably didn't think a QB was the way to go in round 1. Green Bay needed to hedge their bet with Brett Favre getting old and Rodgers dropped into their lap. Worked out great for them. Same thing happened to Brady Quinn. Rodgers, however, is way better than Quinn.

I find this interesting. Apparently, the methodology of rating players was vastly different between the 49ers and the rest of the NFL. If the 49ers would have drafted Rodgers instead of Alex Smith would Smith been drafted in the top 10?

San Diego did it three times -- Ryan Leaf, Drew Brees and Philip Rivers.
As for Alex Smith there was a ton of discussion about him and his ability to operate effectively in the NFL. I don't know if he would have dropped like Rodgers only because he had such great stats in college. There were some serious concerns with his arm strength. Hard telling Mc.
With Brady Quinn, when he wasn't selected by Cleveland the consensus was he'd drop way down because the rest of the teams after that just didn't need or weren't interested in taking a QB in the first round. Cleveland ended up trading back into the 1st to draft Quinn.

Raiders miss a 30 yard FD at the gun to hand the game to Arizona.
Ah...always next week. Getting old but always next week. Fuck.

When are the 49ers going to realize that Alex Smith is NEVER going to be a good NFL QB? Drafting Smith instead of Aaron Rodgers looks pretty stupid now.

I missed the hissy fit Singletary had on the sideline with Smith. Damn...heard he got in his face.

Sure it does in hindsight.
I remember the 2005 draft and many of the pundits said that the 49ers were leaning towards Rodgers over Smith. It was close as to who the 49ers were going to pick.

I've soured on Singletary as a HC.
I like guys who are "fiery" but Iron Mike has taken it to a level that I think players tire of quickly. He seems more interested in showing the players what a tough guy he is rather than a guy they respect and want to play for. There is a fine line between "fiery" and "asshole".
Me, I lean more towards the Gruden, Cowher and Parcells personally type. With those guys there is no doubt who is in charge and what is expected. The difference is none of them have to prove they can kick your ass.

If a coach wins he's "fiery". If he loses he's an "asshole". :)

The NFL today is quite complex in terms of game planning. Just because a guy played in the NFL doesn't mean he understands the intricacies and nuances or putting a game plan together. I just don't get the feeling that Mike Singletary knows that much about proper game planning.

About time. That guy is half asleep on the sidelines. It's a wonder a football team can play for that guy at all. Another perfect example of the Peter Principle.
Brad Childress is next. Just a matter of time. Can not stand that guy.

From the way they played the last game I would have fired him at halftime.

Singlatary, as it turns out, is jsut a bad fit as a HC. Apparently his style doesn't translate well with NFL multi-millionaires. Understandable.
He'll probably catch on somewhere as a linebackers coach at some point.
Buh-Bye. :wavey:

Sure I am.
Happy to see NE lose.
Very happy to see the fraud Seahags get blasted.
Steelers/Packers in Super Bowl? I really don't see the Jets winning in Pittsburgh. That Steeler defense is no joke. But then this has been a strange year. Anything can happen and usually has.

Let's see...I hate all the teams in this order:
Squealers
J-E-T-S (and their loud mouth coach)
Bears
Peckers
Was just saying that Pittsburgh defense is bad ass. They're playing at home so...I dunno.
Packers are on a roll. Kinda rooting for the Cal kid so....

Why does everyone hate Rex Ryan? Gawd I hope the Steelers don't win it all. I know this Steeler fan who keeps telling me the Steelers are the greatest historic NFL franchise. It drives me nuts! When I tell him the Packers have 12 NFL titles and the Steelers only have six, he thinks six is better than 12! :pound:

So im a pretty lucky guy. All the Ravens home games this year I will be working on the sidelines with the camera guys. Do it for volunteer time, the paycheck goes to the army unit im in to help pay for events. Not a bad gig for volunteer work. Watch the game from the sidelines, make sure no one gets ran over by the camera lift in between plays. Must say inside the redzone is great, have the cheerleaders shakin it right in front of me.

I would be happy with winning the west fellas. Have the offense weapons, just need a quarterback. Best bet is to choke and get Andrew Luck.
