Well the boy wonder finally got it done in the biggest tournament of his career (other than a major). "The Players" is considered by many to be the "5th Major" and Sergio Garcia finally closed the deal with a nice display of clutch putting -- which nobody thought he could do.

I'll admit I have never like Garcia but frankly this weekend I was cheering him on. He seems to have matured and has taken his game to another level. Granted Tiger Woods wasn't in the field but still Sergio hung tough to wrestle the tournament away in the closing holes erasing a 3 stroke deficit in the last 6 holes to force a playoff. His tee shot on the infamous 17th in the playoff was nothing short of brilliant.

The TPC at Sawgrass was playing double tough this week with winds hollowing like a hurricane making par a very good score. The par 4 18th played to 4.96 on Sunday with no golfer being able to hit the fairway off the tee. Garcia laid up and hit wedge to within 6 feet and made it for par to force the playoff. Clutch putt. Nice.
