Twitter is fast becoming the wave of the future especially for beat writers coving sports teams.

Who are the Giants beat writers whop are tweeting about breaking developments? I need to add them to my list.

Bear, disregard this thread and post as it's WAY over your comprehension to get involved with Twitter. ;)

On this point you can be sure about that. The only thing that should tweet is a bird with a bird brain.

So none of you people are Tweeting. It's absolutely great for following what's going on in the football camps. You don't even have to do anything -- just "follow" your favorite sportswriter and his Tweets come right to your page.

I figured Mc would jump on this. the Bear? Well a little too much technology for the Bear to get involved. He's not smarter than the average Bear. Ha.

But much smarter than the very average SF Kid! That's why he does not tweet.:pound::pound:

I'm not a big Twitter fan, really. I do have an account but I never use it. I spend lots of time on Facebook, though.

Do you people ever go outside? There is a whole forest out there and sunshine feels so good. Also spending some time with real people (or Bears) is nice from time to time. I reccomend you guys try it. I am sure it beats the hell out of Twitter and Facebook.

Well a good number of my Facebook friends live very far from me. For example, one lives in Boston, another in Seattle, another in Austin Texas, and another in Australia.

That wife of yours is very smart. Even the Bears don't want to live in Seattle. The is some strange SF Kid you lives up there who thinks he is Elmer Fud. Very strange place.:nono:

You dumb Bear. Go get your self a Twitter account. (It's Free)

then "follow" your favorite sportswriters and you'll see how cool it is. I don't really tweet at all. Just follow the sports writers and get their insider information immediately. Yeah it's here to stay. Like it or not.

A few random comments about things that have been mentioned in this thread (not that anyone asked me!). :D

I don't Twitter. Sorry, but I believe in dealing with the abstract, with rich ideas, with discussion, debate, actual content. Complete sentences with correct spelling and grammar and punctuation. Maybe even paragraphs. Nothing like that can be expressed in, what, 120 characters or less??? What a stupid, text-speak world we live in... :pound:

I am on Facebook. Good way to stay in touch with those "marginal" friends that you don't see day in and day out of your lives. Also it is good to reconnect with old high school friends, cousins you haven't seen in 20 years, whatever. I do find face-to-face contact to be much better, though. And like Bear says, I do like to go outside once in a while, too! :D

As far as moving to Seattle... I personally wouldn't recommend it. (Sorry, Kid!) It's a fun city to visit, but it has the worst traffic on the west coast of any city not named Los Angeles. The population is just a little too big for me. But I do absolutely and completely and totally LOVE Portland, OR. No city is perfect, but it is just so beautiful and lush and fun up here. Practically a rain forest when you get out into the country. And where else can you live and be about 1 1/2 hours from the ocean and about 1 hour from skiing???

I moved up here from the Bay Area in '94 and haven't regretted it since. Oh, other than having only seen two live Giants games in all that time. :( But except for missing the Giants, you couldn't PAY me enough to move back to the Bay Area!!!

I say too each his own. I owned a home in Portland in the late 80"s early 90"s and thought about moving there. It was not to be but I do love the town. I also love Seattle and Vancouver B.C. along with S.F. but each town offers something different for everyone. I say just enjoy yourself where ever you live because life is too short.:^^
