Ok, so which of the Giants' "Big Four" (Buster Posey, Tim Alderson, Angel Villalona, and Madison Bumgarner) will reach the majors first and when?

Ill say by September this year, and by the break if they trade Big Money

I think it's between Posey and Alderson. Alderson will start at San Jose briefly but be moved to double-A once the weather warms up on the East Coast. I think that gives him the advantage over Posey. Posey will just be starting his first full season at high A-ball. And Sabean has hinted that he will give Posey at least one full season in the minors.

I thought they were all starting in AA?

No, there are all starting at single-A San Jose with Alderson moving up once the weather gets warmer at AA Connecticut.

I think Madison Bumgarner may be the first of the Big Four to reach the majors. He's now 3-0, 0.50 ERA, 21 Ks, 4 BB, 10 hits in 18 innings at AA Connecticut. This kid has some SERIOUS talent.

As good as he is I would wait until I moved one of the current starters to make room for him. As we all know it's not the pitching.:nono:

We are okay with Sanchez in the 5 spot Bear?? I would hate to see them bring him to the bigs to soon and his confidence get dented!! How strong is this Kid mentally??

Bumgarner and Alderson continue to pitch well at AA Connecticut. The clock is ticking...tick tock...tick tock...tick tock...

The word is Posey is about to get a jump up to AAA. I'd say he's the odds-on favorite to make the team first.

No rush on any of them, however. :D:rolleyes:

It looks like Giants' management is not in a rush to bring them to SF. Supposedly there have been some rumblings that under no circumstances will Posey, MadBum or Alderson will reach the majors in '09 not even a late September call up. :(

I guess that will make for an interesting spring training in 2010.

Well, I wouldn't want to rush them either, but that is mildly disappointing. I was hoping to at least get a "taste" of them at the major league level this year.

With great sadness Tim Alderson is crossed off the list. We hardly knew thee, Tim. :(

I agree with that. Sanchez needs to be that All-Star self. Anything less and the Giants will be looking awfully stupid.

I sure hope they checked out that bad wheel thoroughly. Amazing we'd give up a top prospect for a guy with a bad knee.
