Raiders Select McFadden

The Oakland Raiders selected Arkansas RB Darren McFadden with the #4 overall slection in the 2008 NFL Draft.

The Oakland Raiders have selected Arkansas RB Darren McFadden with the #4 overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft. McFadden rushed for 4,590 yards on 785 attempts, averaging 5.8 yards, and scored 44 touchdowns during his career at Arkansas.

During his career at Arkansas, McFadden caught 46 passes for 365 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw seven touchdown passes and returned a kickoff for a score.

In 2007, he rushed for 1,830 yards on 325 attempts, averaging 5.6 yards, and scored 17 touchdowns.

Well I'm Ok with taking DMC. If you subscribe to the "take the best player avaialbe" instead of drafting for need the Raiders did the right thing. How will it work out? Hard to say. The Raiders really could have used Dorsey but let him slide by and now he's a Chief. Ugh.

Wait a minute. I don't remember any of the "classic" Raiders having tats (Stabler, Tatum, van Eeghen, Casper, Branch, Lamonica, Shell, Upshaw). :o

The names of Stabler, Tatum, van Eeghen, Casper, Branch, Lamonica, Shell, Upshaw being used to talk about the game of football today is crazy.:pound:

Its sad when you have to list these guy as being part of todays "American" game. These guys were players when we were kids, and have nothing to do with the Raiders of today. The only thing these guy have in common with the current Raiders is the uniform. There is a big difference between being a fan and being caught up in hero worship.:shakehead:
