View Full Version : Random thoughts of the Bear
History was made last night and even though I am not completely happy I must admit that as a nation we made history on Nov 4th 2008 when we elected the first black man to be our president. Even though you may have voted for the other candidate you must acknowledge this accomplishment. It is because of this, no matter how I feel about the election overall, I am proud of what has happen to the country and proud to be living in a country no matter what color your skin is you to can be president or anything else you wish to be.:toast:

I can applaud America for not allowing a man's skin color to dictate their views of him. Though I am bummed that America elected an ultra-liberal. But, the voters spoke and that's just the way it is. It's time to move forward now. Oh and by the way Obama is half white. :p

Kid, Bear,
You guys grew up in the 1950s. Can you have imagined that someone like Barrack Obama would have been elected President in your lifetime?

We were more of the 60's generation than the 50's. High School class of 1964 and college class of 1968.
To answer your question as a Democrat, and liberal I would have to say in the 1960's I would say no, but as time passed, and we got to the late 80's I would have changed my mind. We will have a woman also elected President in my lifetime God willing.:beerbang:

Just teasin' ya, Bear! :p
On to a more serious thought. Why should Manny be allowed to go to the minors on a rehab assignment before his 50 games out is up? I just do not think this is right. Second can't MLB block his playing in the ALL-Star Game? Great message to the youth of the country.:nono::shakehead::nono::shakehead::nono:

Just Manny being Manny.
Yes, that kinda sucks. He got suspended and shouldn't have the benefit of a "rehab"...dumb asses.

I think MLB will nix any plans for Manny to play in the majors. What they really should do is simply not count any votes for Manny in the first place.

If the voting stopped today he would make the All-Star team. This sucks!

Fans as a whole are MORONS!! I am glad ARod is 3rd in the AL balloting!! There is always more deserving players but I guess they call them "all-stars" for a reason.
