"Molina will be entering the final year of his contract and he doesn't want to endure another painful free-agent separation. Molina wanted to stay with the Angels and Blue Jays earlier in his career but had to sign elsewhere.

He knows Pablo Sandoval is on the scene and Buster Posey is on the way, but he hopes to sit with Giants officials at some point.

"I'll do everything to help this team," Molina said. "We should be better next year, even better the year after that, and I want to be a part of it".:beerbang:

I see no reason to trade Molina at this point unless we can make a deal that would help the team.;)

There is no reason to keep Molina past 2009. The giants have Sandoval and Posey on the way. Molina will just block their playing time.

In case you have not noticed it is 2008. Next season is 2009. It looks like Posey will be in the Bigs by 2010, but he is not here yet. As they say do not count your chickens until they are hatched.

Ok, then keep Molina for '09 then let him go after that. Simple as that.

Lets revisit this thread. We will be starting the 2010 season and Posey is still not ready. Maybe we try to keep Molina another two years.:oops:

I think we BTTER keep Molina.

Personally I think Posey needs some more seasoning at AAA. :righton:

Hard to believe, but the Kid, and the Bear are on the same page. Now if the Kid could only read the page.:pound:

Know one knows if Posey is not ready for 2010. Given that it is wise to look for a veteran catcher. There are other younger, better free agent catchers than Molina available. Molina is one of the worst hitters in the NL among starting players. With the Giants anemic offense they can't afford to have Molina hitting fourth.
