A dejected Moises Alou removed himself from a rehab start with Double-A Binghamton after six innings Wednesday night, sidetracking plans for him to rejoin the Mets Friday for their series opener against the Rockies. Alou, rehabbing from a strained left calf, felt the hamstring on the same leg "grab a little bit."
Expected to play seven innings, Alou pulled himself an inning early after three hitless at-bats. He expected to have an MRI exam - "another one," he said despondently - and see the team's medical staff in New York today.
"Same leg, different part," Alou told the Daily News. "I throw my arms up."
Alou, who has played in just 15 games this season, said he wasn't throwing in the towel.
"I haven't given up yet," he said.

Moises, it's time to throw in the towel, and anything else left left in your locker. It's over. Way Over!
