Kevin Correia, RHP (1-5, 5.20) Giants (34-45) @ Dana Eveland, LHP (5-5, 3.51) Athletics (43-35)
Scouting Report:
Giants: In two starts off the disabled list, Correia has shown flashes of good pitching but hasn't put it all together. In his most recent start, against the Royals, he lasted a season-low five innings and gave up three runs. A two-out, two-run single in the fourth sank him in that outing. In his two starts since getting off the DL, Correia has pitched 10 1/3 innings and given up eight runs.
A's: Eveland threw for 6 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on eight hits while walking two, hitting two and striking out four in his last start against the Marlins, which he described as a "battle." It was the ninth time in 18 starts, however, that he limited the opposing team to two runs or fewer. Eveland is 1-0 against the Giants -- the win coming just two weeks ago when he limited San Francisco to one run on six hits through 6 2/3 innings at AT&T Park.

Tim Lincecum, RHP (8-1, 2.54) Giants (34-45) @ Justin Duchscherer, RHP (8-4, 1.99) Athletics (43-35)
Scouting Report:
Giants: Lincecum had the shortest start of his season on Sunday against the Royals. He lasted just five innings and gave up five runs. Lincecum said he just wasn't focused. A third-inning collision may have also affected his concentration. The subpar outing raised his ERA from 2.21 to 2.54. Lincecum has now been unable to notch a quality start in two straight outings after opening the season with 13 straight quality starts.
A's: Duchscherer made yet another case for a second All-Star game appearance in his last start against Florida. He limited the Marlins to just one run on six hits while walking two and striking out five en route to becoming the Major League's ERA leader. Duchscherer is riding on a career-high four-game winning streak, and he will start against the Giants for the first time in his career. In five relief appearances, he is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA versus San Francisco.

Jonathan Sanchez, LHP (7-4, 3.98) Giants (34-45) @ Joe Blanton, RHP (4-10, 4.58) Athletics (43-35)
Scouting Report:
Giants: Sanchez excelled in his last start, limiting Cleveland to one run and five hits in 7 2/3 innings for his fifth victory in six games. He has slowly emerged as the staff's co-ace with Tim Lincecum, as reflected by San Francisco's 12-4 record when he starts (the Giants are 11-5 when Lincecum pitches, including his April 2 relief effort). Plagued by erratic control early in the season, Sanchez has walked no more than three batters in eight consecutive starts. He also has allowed only one home run in his last seven outings.
A's: Blanton finally looked like his staff ace self in his last start against the Phillies while snapping a four-game losing streak. He limited Philadelphia to just one run on four hits while walking four and striking out five -- his only mistake coming on a solo home run. Blanton did not face San Francisco when the A's made a visit to AT&T Park earlier this month, but in his career he has a 1-1 record with a 3.97 ERA in four games against the Giants.
I hope they Giants can take at least two in this series!
