I get timed out a lot on here.

Anything that can be done?

I just spent like 10-15 minutes on a post, and when I tried to submit it, I was timed out and had to log back in, and I lost it. I don't have a lot of spare time right now, so it seriously pissed me!!

Cheers guys.

Danny

Hmmm...I never have that problem. Perhaps the SF Kid can address it for you. One thing I do do with long posts is that I write them in Notepad or MS. Word. Then when I'm done I simply copy and paste it to my post.

Thanks for that McCovey. Bear told me that SF Kid never even reads the forum, so whether he'll see this or not, I don't know :D

But I will do that from now on, unless I know my post is only going to take a few minutes.

I may have over stated when I used the word never. However if it is deeper that "See Spot Run" you maybe in trouble.:pound:

I have to look into Danny. But I think when you are posting you can't let it sit there for 30 minutes without doing something but I have never had that happen.

You are going to look into the problem (I hope), and not into Danny as I am sure he has no desire for that to happen any time soon.

The session was set to 900 seconds (15 minutes). If you are inactive for more than 900 seconds the session times out. Isn't that sufficient? Who the hell screws around with a posting window open for more than 15 minutes? I have never had it happen and have been posting on forums for over 15 years.

I changed it to 1200 seconds (20 minutes). That is more than sufficient.

I must admit that most posts don't take that long to compose, and even if they do you would seldom be inactive unless you took time out for one of two activities (food or sex). If you need more time than 20 minutes of inactive time to compose a post write it in Word or Notes and cut an paste. I am sure we all know how to do that.:D

I'm not "screwing around posting" as you put it Kid. I have like 100 other things to attend to right now, including trying to decorate a house, sell it, talk on the phone to my wife and kids several times a day, do other work, send off emails, you wouldn't even believe it. It's not uncommon for me to take a long while to post, if you can run off all your posts in 5 minutes, and remember to log-off, and remember to log back on, and paint the deck, and scrub down the kitchen, and pull up a million weeds from the back lawn, then great. I can't. Thanks for the 20 minute extension anyways, I'll try to remember to compose posts on the back of a scrap of wallpapaper next time I'm up the ladder.

Neither. I use Avant Browser, which is way quicker than any of them, you should try it, you'll be amazed.
